Beads are, it is safe to say, the most ancient and traditional kind of jewelry out of all. The earliest known beaded jewelry is believed to be around 70,000 years old. The round shape of individual beads is considered classic. We carry 7 different sizes of round shungite beads, from the tiny 4 mm to massive 16 mm*. The material for our beads comes from the mysterious region – Karelia. The shungite comes from the Zazhoginskaya mine, near the small village of Shunga. * - the size in millimeters is measured by the diameter of the individual bead.
